I also offer Forest Friends, a mystical tale inspired by nature and what is possible for children, and parents who still believe in mysticism and magic.

Scratching the surface of what is possible.
I believe we're only beginning to scratch the surface of what's possible for humans — and that creativity and presence can empower us to grow together. My work is about shedding light on other ways of being and seeing, guiding people toward a path of empowerment.
I live with my wife and two boys in the Black Forest of Germany. As a boy, I was curious about what lies beyond our main senses — and music became my refuge from a chaotic world. My journey through addiction, a lost baseball career, and a 2015 cancer diagnosis asked me to dig deep, find my authentic center, and embrace a new path.
Called into a deeper life.
Looking back, it's clear I've been called into a life filled with dynamic, challenging circumstances — experiences that asked me to look inside and reflect, so I could open up in ways I could only dream of as a child. The freedom and peace I feel today came through that deep inner work.
Drums, dirt, and a dream.
Ever since I was a boy, music, playing outside, and being creative had a big influence on me. I started playing drums at twelve, dreaming of becoming a drummer in a rock 'n' roll band — until my focus shifted to sports, especially baseball.
A contract, and a collapse.
In 1999 I signed a professional baseball contract with the Springfield Capitals, an independent-league team — but it was short-lived. My drug addiction had taken over, and I was released during spring training. Six months later I served a short stint in jail, having lost everything I'd worked for — it was a miracle I didn't lose my life to my addiction and reckless behavior.
I got clean and sober — and for the first time in a very long time, maybe ever, I felt free. Months in, I saw the gravity of being given a second chance: what felt like losing everything was actually a gift, putting me on a path far more aligned with my core.
Rebuilding, one craft at a time.
In 2002 I went back to school to study music and sound arts in Minneapolis, working as a janitor and managing my friend's property — which we later converted into a sober living house for men in early recovery. In 2005 I moved back to Seattle and joined the Drum Cafe as a performer, bringing teams together through African drumming and interactive play; in 2006 I moved to San Francisco to pursue DJing further.
A diagnosis, and a new world.
In 2011 I moved to Berlin, and in 2015 I was diagnosed with cancer. It turned my world upside down — though maybe not in the way you'd think: one of the most challenging experiences of my life, and also one of its greatest gifts, inspiring me to live in entirely new ways. It led me to Ecstatic Dance, and the chance to play live sets across Europe and beyond.
The diagnosis connected me to my core in a deeper way — I wouldn't have met my wife had it not happened. I knew even then it had come to help me, though it might also take my life sooner than I expected. But whatever the outcome, it helped me open up in ways I'd been dreaming of for a long time, and I believe it's helped me live longer.
What happens next isn't up to me. What I can control is my response. And for how my life has opened up since, I am grateful.
